Roaming: T-Mobile, att, straight talk....

Can you good folks explain how gsm roaming works? I am one of the MANY waiting in limbo for my N4. I currently have an ST att sim ready to use, but am now thinking of the $30 plan from T Mo. I have T-Mobile where I live, but not back home when the family goes back to visit. Will T-Mobile roam on att when back home? If so, edge or hspa?

Check the coverage maps carefully. Prepaid plans may not have the same off-network coverage as postpaid. I have T-Mobile post paid and roamed seamlessly on ATT while in an off network area in mid-Ohio so it will work with the right plan.
