Mine gets great signal on vzw. The 4g is crazy fast too, especially when I'm downloading apps to my SD card

Yeah just pop the sim in and put an APN file on the external sdcard (Hidden under the removable battery) and BOOM! Blazing 4G LTE.

Another tip, you should use APP2SD since there is so little onboard storage. (Or you can use a USB OTG stick to install them to)
