Re: Well I'm unlucky....lost in transit
UPS once delivered a laptop I ordered to the neighbor down the street about 4 houses away. It was also "lost", but just before I decided to ramp up the solution avenues, my neighbor nicely came by to deliver it to me by hand - this was 3 days after it was delivered to her.
I probably should have just made them deliver another laptop to me for all the trouble.

Re: Well I'm unlucky....lost in transit
I'm in a building with 24 hour receiving...it definitely wasn't left with a neighbor. I already contacted UPS and they told me it was "lost in transit" and they needed the shipper, google, to ask for a formal investigation before they are liable.
And this latest email has me wondering what to do next...it's 11pm here and this is what I get: - 12-05-2012, 01:48 PM

Re: Well I'm unlucky....lost in transit
I had to call UPS again and when I explained Google's response so far, they volunteered to call them while I was on hold and finally put an end to this "out for delivery" status.
UPS said 8 business days to investigate before issuing the claim to Google.
Now I wonder if Google will send me a new one right away or just wait it out. - 12-05-2012, 02:07 PM #13

Re: Well I'm unlucky....lost in transit
This just happened to me, as well. Was scheduled for delivery on the 6th, but hasn't showed up for 3 business days. Calling Google Play store support and got my issue 'resolved' without too much hassle (it was filed as a lost or stolen package, so the IMEI will be disabled and from the email it seems like they can disable the hardware, as well? Whoever took it will have a very attractive brick) . The lady I spoke to tried saying it was coming today based off rescheduled delivery date until I explained the delivery date just seems to roll over automatically. Refund is expected to happen in 14 days at the latest and I have to re-order it. Which I did, hopefully it actually makes to me this time. Damn you, UPS.

Re: Well I'm unlucky....lost in transit
I got mine yesterday...they shipped me another one two days after UPS set the status of the first one to lost in transit.
Don't bother emailing google. They will just tell you it's out for delivery.
Either call them or call UPS. It's probably best to call UPS first to get the status switched. - 12-11-2012, 09:27 AM #17
Re: Well I'm unlucky....lost in transit
Damn, looks like I should have contacted UPS first (well, technically I did, but through email only, they suggested having Google file for a package investigation, which prompted me to call Google). So I went from being in the 1-2 week window from ordering on the 27th to the 5-6 week one now. Ugh.
