Great speeds here in Atlanta.. Between 8-19mb down consistently. Yea, I got "mistakenly" put on the $30 plan with 30mb data and 1000mins the first time I signed up. I tried to sign up via the web but at the very last page to "confirm" everything, I got a Tmobile webpage error saying my activiation could not be complete and to call. I did and I totally missed being on the "other" $30 plan until about an hour later after downloading all my apps again I got a free text from Tmobile saying I've exceeded my data! WTF?! LOL.. So I called them right back and the first service rep I got, I told them I just signed up an hour ago and was put on the wrong $30 plan. She fixed it immediately and within 5mins, I was on the right plan. So far, their service has been great! Blows VZW out of the water for me personally and my old call days to them.. Ooofa!

Getting 12 to 16 Mbps down on T-Mobile around San Diego. Switching from AT&T.

I switched from an HTC G2 (I live in a good TMo area, but it's not considered excellent) and I used to get around 2-3Mbps. I called in, activated the microsim and put it in my Nexus 4 and immediately got between 8-10Mbps.

If your speeds are lacking a lot compared to what you'd expect you should contact T-Mobile. Maybe they're having problems with their towers in that area?

Ya they said my home area is in a bad spot but the service everywhere else is great. Now just need to cancel my AT&T line.

i think you should change your plan
take gosmart $45 plan, think that should solve your problem
and if not then either you are in a area which dose not have good speed or or change your carrier

You might want to call them. I did and they told me they were fixing the tower. Here are what my speeds were and what they are now.
