Getting to the native tether app through settings is a bit of a pain. Is there any way to make it either a widget or an icon you can put on one of your home screens so you can just click it and go? I'm so used to running ROMs like CM that let you launch it from the drag down notification area...I miss that.

I use extended controls allows me to have a tethered app toggle

Get some NFC tags and write one to toggle it off and on, job done, no need to touch the phone

NFC is still the better choice imho, and the cm toggle did exactly that it toggled hotspot on and off. With the method above you still have to go to settings then enable. Hardly click and go, but it's your choice.

I don't have my N4 yet, so I'm not sure if it works on it, but I use MoreQuicklyPanel on my GNex, which operates much the same as Widgetsoid, and allows me quick access to toggle the hotspot on and off.
