Rebooting phone.

So I had my first sort of software glitch yesterday on my nexus 4. First the camera wouldn't take photos and then I was having issues receiving and sending texts. On my blackberry I would just do a battery pull but since this is my first Android device and it does not have a removable battery, does powering down and turning it back on sufficient to do a hard reboot? Is there like a hold volume buttons plus power on key to do something else?

I ran into a bug where it wouldn't take a pic once... and only once - have not been able to replicate it. Anyways... all I did was do a shut down and restart.
