Battery drain - Maps

Can anyone shed any light on why maps is using so much of my battery? I've used it for literally 2 minutes and there was a lot of usage even before I used it.

Did you force close it from app switcher? And try clearing the cache. Pretty sure it shouldn't take that much battery even if you only used 30% of the phone so far.

Open google maps-->menu(three dots)-->settings-->location settings-->Uncheck "Report from this device"

give it a few days. it will come down.
