in certain lighting there is no sparkle. Even then it wont sparkle like you see in the pictures. Its supposed to be somewhat subtle.
Look on the bright side...maybe it's a super rare original dev phone worth some $$$!
Either way, it appears to be VERY rare. Until we hear otherwise.

Ummmm...I'd take a flat black backed N4 over a snapped in half one.God dammit >.> If it was I would be so pissed lol.
Well deficiencies are very rare but it doesn't mean it's any good. For example my Nexus 4 arrives crushed and in half, that's pretty rare isn't it? But it isn't good either lol.
There are no other instances of this on the internet that I see but it's early on in the day with the second wave still arriving.
Here's pic of my Nexus 4 - 16 GB, ordered Nov. 30th, arrived today, is yours 8 or 16 GB?

Take a photo of the back of yours with a camera with the flash turned on from an angle. I bet it looks more like the sparkly photos you are seeing online. Its pretty underwhelming when you look at it under diffused or indirect light straight on, but direct light at an angle seems to make it pop.
Most of the photos you've seen of the back were taken with a real camera with the proper lighting conditions, that's just not how it looks in the real world.

Oh, yeah, I can see it I guess but it's still really not noticeable. Videos show, even without flash. Just normal light.
From the photos on XDA you still have the back factory film on it. You RMA'ed a perfect phone. Wasn't what you expected but it was what you ordered. And you wonder why it takes forever to ship out orders. XDA continues to mock AC members, with reason it seems.

oh yeah, less breaking? AWESOME! but hey guys i was right and i'm not stupid! lol
edit: after taking off my case to look at the back, it seems to have it's glittery ness back though not as profound as previous models. It's just a certain angle to see it, you have to make the glass point almost towards the source of the light and it can't just be in a lighted room. That's a shame.
hey i never thought you were stupid i even said it could have been a new change.
i wonder what other changes were made... shake it and let me know if you hear a rattle... or plug in earphones and check for crackling... thx.
People kept telling me to look in the light lol even though i was.
Well i still have static in the earpiece and slight rattle. None in headphones jack, though im not sure thats a very common problem

While you still have the new phone, check the hardware version. Turn off the phone and turn it back on while holding down the volume down button. This will boot into the bootloader and there is a list of information towards the bottom of the screen. It seems like most of the launch models have been rev_10, with a few rev_11 mixed in. There is someone on XDA with a phone without the sparkle that is rev_12b. Then check the bottom of your box for the serial number (the serial number on the box is different from the serial number listed in the bootloader). The first three numbers correspond with the manufacture date of your phone. The first number is the year (it will be a 2, for 2012). The second and third numbers are the month (mine is 10, October). After the first three numbers, there is a letter which corresponds to the country of manufacture. Most (all?) of the launch day phones have had a K for Korea, but the sparkleless one on XDA has a C for China.People kept telling me to look in the light lol even though i was.
