Incoming call/ringtone over Bluetooth
On my iPhone when some one called and I had my Bluetooth in it would send the ringtone over to my Bluetooth and the iPhone would not ring. On android you have to manually turn the phone ringer down to keep it from ringing even when Bluetooth is on (by default at least). But that isn't a big deal.
The real crux of this topic is that in my ear all I hear is "incoming call" with no indication of the number calling or any ringtone which might indicate who it is. I still have to pull my phone out and look at it before answering if I want to know. Is there anyway to make it send the ringtone to my Bluetooth or have it tell me the number? Been searching through settings and cannot find an option. Did I miss a setting or is there an App to control options on incoming calls via Bluetooth? Thanks.

Anyone? If it is obvious and I missed it feel free to call me stupid as long as you tell me how to push my ringtone over Bluetooth or at least call out the incoming number instead of just "incoming call".

Re: Incoming call/ringtone over Bluetooth
I wonder how much of this is a function of your bluetooth device? For example, I don't believe my N4 "rings" on an incoming call when using my JayBirdGear BlueBuds X headset (but, honestly, I can't point to many examples when a call came in while I was using them...).
What bluetooth device are you using?
Re: Incoming call/ringtone over Bluetooth
A backbeat 903+ by plantronics. I used the same headphones on my iPhone 4s and it "rang" in my ear with whatever ringtone was assigned to the number. Makes me think it is controlled by the phone and not the headset.

I think you may be correct. I just tried again with my JayBirds and determined that the Nexus 4 does indeed "ring" while I hear a repeating generic "boop-boop" tone in the headset. Like you, I do not see any obvious way to change this behavior.

Well the PDF owners manual for my headset does say you hear incoming call when you are called. [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
And yet it rang through on the iPhone. Maybe Plantronics is all **** buddy up with apple and it works special for an iphone. I dunno. I have used this headset since may with my iPhone and was shocked at the incoming call message with my Nexus. No clue. Maybe it is the headphones, but i do wish there was a way to know who was calling without having to look at my phone.
