If you flash the Google Factory image you will lose root and the custom recovery but the bootloader will stay unlocked.

Root is specific to the ROM, many (most) stock(ish) ROMs come pre-rooted.

Factory reset should reset everything unless you have a custom recovery and/or are running a custom ROM. Then it might not. You can always just get in to CWM or TWRP and do a factory reset from in there and then manually clear off your SD Card if you need to.

If the real goal here is to return to a completely stock device, then restore images are you best option. They'll return the device to the state it was in when you took it outa the box, except for the bootloader being unlocked. You'll have to manually relock that if you want it to be. You'll need to re-root the device afterwards though. Everything on the sdcard will also be wiped.
