Default Any way to delete the Picasa folder in my gallery?

I don't use it, never have, but it has certain pictures I have posted to Google+ that I don't care about or need. I don't want it cluttering up my Gallery either. I noticed I'm not allowed to delete it through the Gallery app but I have not yet tried an explorer app like Astro. Is that the key? Or do I need to root my phone to get rid of this junk?

I am having same issues and would just like to get rid of Picasa. It intrusive, invasive and a pain when you cannot delete your own photos. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

    Googled...

Go to Sync and made sure that "Google Photos" is off.
Then: Settings > Apps > All > Gallery > Clear Cache > Clear Data

Or if you just want to delete certain Picasa folders and not others you can do that on Picasa. Login to your Google account in a browser >> click the 'More' tab >> then 'Photos'. You can edit everything there.
