Powers Down at Night -- Alarm does Not Work

I just got my Nexus 4, and set the alarm to wake me up in the morning. I plugged it into the charger, sent a couple of emails, then went to sleep. The alarm did not go off in the morning, and I had to power up the phone -- it went through the boot cycle, Before it turned back on, I also had a white battery icon appear on the screen. I had to hold the power button for about 5 seconds before it went into the boot cycle.

I called Google Play, and they had no immediate solution, but will be contacting me within a couple of days.

Has anyone else had this experience? Any solutions found?

This happens regularly? Are you using the provided charger?

The white battery icon on the screen means that the phone is currently charging (well you were charging it) so i think your phone is just shutting off randomly,. that is the question you should be asking

Thanks. That is the question I asked -- I just provided all details which might be relevant. It's not shutting down randomly -- only when charging overnight.
