    Default File Explorers

    Im a very organised and I like to keep my phone properly organised as well such as different folders for pictures on my phone. What is the best file explorer around at the moment? I am using astro file manager atm but I have to restart the phone for changes to be made. Is this normal?

    I like Bluetooth File Transfer-->
    It's nothing fancy at all, but gets the job done.
    I started using (and bought the license) a couple years ago in my Nexus S days as a bonus it also helped with Bluetooth connection back then & though the Bluetooth part isn't needed anymore I just have no reason to change File Explorers.

    As for media not refreshing, what I do is after I move stuff around I tap the "Reload Media" toggle I put in my Notification Bar as part of SwitchPro Widget--> and in less than 30 seconds it's done & the changes are reflected in Apps like Gallery for example.

    Hope that helps.

    I use astro like you do but i've never heard of the media refresh. Well I am new to android so that could be why. Only reason i like astro is that i can use google drive on it (though it might be slow) but i can download in bulk.

    I use file manager. It has more functionality than Es, but can't compete in the design.

    ES supports box, google drive, and all the rest of them. I use ES I hated astro.

    Lol no worries. I've only had android for a little over a year and only a few months ago did I even learn how to use file explorers.

    No not that I know of. I just meant when it came to trying to find things like pictures, music etc it was really simple when you'd hook your BB up to a computer whereas android is far more complicated because its set up like a pc.

    I tried to go back to BB a few months ago and just couldn't do it. Maybe BB10 will seduce me.

    I don't know if Ubuntu will be realized with their own devices...might remain something like CM as I doubt carriers will accept its completely open nature though looking forward to installing it on my GNex next month.

    BB OS10 looks interesting.

    Off topic but I never hook up my phone to my computer with a wire. That's old school lol. I use airdroid instead, it's probably one of the most useful apps I've ever used.

    I use ES also.

    I found it because I wanted a way to play video files off my local NAS drive without copying over. It streams them nicely by giving you all the options of all your players to use.

    Yes bb does have a file explorer. If you go to media, menu button and hit explore..

    Does anyone know if it is always necessary to restart my phone for changes to appear in other apps on the nexus 4?
