Re: Over 933,000 Nexus 4 have been produced (as of January 30th 2013)

834,000 that's it? Man, they REALLY need to step up. The Nexus 5 (or whatever they choose to call it) will have similar if not greater demand in the fall. If they don't expect to sell 3-5 million devices just after launch I don't know what Google is thinking. Ramp up production and get ready to sell a boatload of phones, then release press clippings about how many phones you sold.

Funny if they produce a million to be safe and the nexus 5 is a total failure

After the hype and buildup of Nexus 4, 7 and 10, I can't see how a new and improved Nexus 5 with a new version of Android will be a huge failure. Google is just building momentum, the next phone will be even more successful than the last one.

Re: Over 820,000 Nexus 4 have been produced (as of January 25th 2013)

Google Nexus Devices World Availability Checker

From Nexus4checker, it looks like the Nexus 4 is sold out in France, Spain and Australia and has been sold out for a few days now. The demand is still high for this phone.

The current production rate is around 22,000 Nexus 4 per day (or 660,000 per month).

p.s. The Nexus 4 is poised to overtake the LG Optimus G production in the very near future. Back on January 17th, LG stated that 1 million # for the Optimus G.

From engadget:
LG Optimus G sales hit 1 million worldwide

LG proved with the Optimus G that it can produce a smartphone that stacks up with the best of 'em, and according to the company's newly released sales figures, consumers are starting to take notice. As it stands, more than 1 million Optimus G's have been sold since the handset's September debut. While the figure pales in comparison to heavyweights like the Galaxy S III and iPhone 5, that's not too shabby for a phone that's only been available in North America since November. Given the similarities between the Optimus G and the Nexus 4, we're quite curious to know how sales of the two smartphones compare, but Google's currently keeping those numbers close to its chest. That said, there's little doubt that LG currently has its hands full at the production line.

That's incredible. What was the number sold for the Galaxy Nexus?

about 5 million in about a year and 1 month

not sure where you got that information from and it is far from accurate.

1. Google estimates the demand of the Nexus 4 based on the "low" sales of the Galaxy Nexus.

2.Samsung claims 'minuscule' Galaxy Nexus sales numbers didn't harm Apple | The Verge

Samsung attorney John Quinn told the court that in the first two quarters it was in the market, the Galaxy Nexus sold $250 million worth of the device, arguing that "this is a product that, at most, captured 0.5 percent of the market."

If the device was priced at $250 exactly, then $250 mil / $250 = 1 million devices sold in the first 2 quarters
If the device was priced at $349 exactly, then $250 mil / $349 = 716,332 devices sold in the first 2 quarters
If the device was priced at $399 exactly, then $250 mil / $399 = 626,566 devices sold in the first 2 quarters

There is without a doubt that the Nexus 4 is much more popular and much more in demand than the Galaxy Nexus.

Nexus 4 Owners Estimate One Million Handsets Have Shipped Since November 2012 Launch | TechCrunch
Nexus 4 Owners Estimate One Million Handsets Have Shipped Since November 2012 Launch
Last month we reported how Android enthusiasts on the XDA Developer forum had worked out a method to estimate the smartphone?s production run based on each device?s IMEI number. Going into the end of 2012 the estimate suggested LG had produced about 400,000 devices in total. Now, according to a post on the same forum by member draugaz, Nexus 4 production has passed the millionth device.

Google declined to comment on Nexus 4 sales figures when contacted by TechCrunch but a source close to the company indicated that Mountain View is very happy with the take up so far.

So el goog does not seem to be slowing down although I suppose they actually should be doing it by now.

Serials going up to 490+k as of 16th of March. Or 160k in March. In other words, that little nexus army is marching forwards showing no signs of slowing down. Kind of strange.

Btw, around 680k.

Looks like they still don't even think about slowing down.

The monthly production rate will look like this (assuming 10,000 will be produced on March 30 and another 10,000 produced on March 31).

October: 70,000
November: 90,000
December: 210,000
January: 560,000
February: 404,000
March: 366,000

Total at the end of March: 1,700,000 units

Awesome. Maybe this will make carriers demand a LTE Nexus and give Google more control this time.

A man can dream :)
