Screen wash out?

Just received my nexus 4 and on this app only if I have it on tapatalk dark them its almost a gray color when I Click on a topic and press on the screen to scroll down it turns to a dark black.not sure if its just this app as my pull down bar up top is pure black my Google page is all white haven't noticed it with any other apps just this one

The screen is washed out, but blacks are generally okay. If you compare vibrant colors, that's where the dissapointment comes. For example, Songza's colorful main page on this phone compared to on an iPhone 5 will make you realize that if you put them side by side. If you don't have them side by side, the differences are subtle and not too noticeable.

Ah I thought it was just some units had bad screens and not that the screen on all the units are like that

I just thought it was weird how when I go to scroll on this app it turns completely black. Then when I let go it turns grayish almost like the keyboard key color

Sadly, no. The screen is washed out on all Nexus 4s. Some worse than others, but its no iPhone 5 screen, that's for sure. Then again, comparing it to the best screen on the market is a little unfair. Its light years ahead of my old phone's screen, the Galaxy Nexus.

As for your particular issue,can you upload a screenshot of what you're referring to? I'm finding it hard to visualize, and if I can see it in the screenshot, that rules out any hardware issues as well...

So this background is gray for you until you start scrolling? Try looking at this screenshot on your phone and on a computer. Are there big differences in the color?

Alright so that screen shot is exactly what all my other blacks look like. And exactly what this app looks like when I start scrolling. When i stop scrolling its almost a gray color. Also when in the normal white tapatalk theme its almost a yellowish color until scrolling it turns white.

Right here same phone seconds apart scrolling or just touching the screen turns it dark black. Letting sit idle its that gray color. Doesn't seem to happen anywhere else but this app. Hell even when i hit to reply in a topic the box to type in is completely white. Google home page is white. My notification bar is completely black. I have a friend with nexus I'm going to have him download the app so we can compare

I used to have the Optimus G and it's screen was amazing and not washed out at all. The Nexus 4 has the exact same technology so why would it be different? Is this something we can fix on our own without rooting?

Is it only that app? And the iPhone 5 doesn't have the best screen on the market. If anything it's a tie between it and what HTC is using.

The iPhone screen doesn't have true colors, it's tweaked to be garish and over bright. The Nexus screen has much truer colors, you just have to let your eyes adjust for a few days to the difference.
