So, three months later, I shattered the rear glass. . .

Yeah, I bought a glass phone while working in construction without a case, what of it? :-[
I was wondering how hard it would be to pick out the shattered pieces of glass from the back, and replace it with a different material. . . I know the camera actually "looks through" the back glass, but that could be fixed with a simple cutout maybe? Throw me ideas. I don't want to go through the hassle of sending my phone to LG, and being without a phone for a while. I was picturing a "wood grain" backing :)

Re: So, three months later, I shattered the rear glass. . .
A nice slab of red oak or mahogany would be awesome. Maybe cedar would be great. And then a nice couple coats of spar urethane for a lasting finish. In fact, I might like something like that better than the original glass back. :D

Whatever the material they use to fix a small spider web in a car windshield might work. It may not completely smooth any rough areas out, but if you could stop further cracking, and put a case on it, who would know? Other than that, some type of clear epoxy could work.

Where did you get that sticker on the back!?! I had one of those on my iPhone 4 to protect the back and I really want one for the Nexus 4 now. I don't want to be like the OP.

this--well, in reverse order. Wow, that wood looks beautiful, but the other suggestions should work. Lots of choices with[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...], but other have similar.
Sorry about your shatter, but looks like it's not as bad as some I've seen. Show us what you did after you decide.

I don't use wireless charging but i don't see why not, it's just a sticker, maybe someone that uses wireless charging can answer.

I don't think that would work in my instance. There are shards of glass falling out when I lift up on my screen protector, lol.

All these pics make me think there should be a thread to compare "backing replacement" ideas. :P

Yep! We all buy Android because of it's user friendliness and "customability". The outside of the phone should be no exception!

Hell yeah. There are topics everywhere where people show off the customized wallpapers and themes they have, there should be a topic about external customizations too.
