photo gallery problem

I noticed that this phone syncs any photos I have on Google plus and picasa with the gallery. The problem is it was filling it up with separate albums I don't remember creating,some that don't even have photos in them. Also it won't allow me to delete them. My only solution was to delete the gallery app data and turn off sync. Why isn't there a separate option for only turning off syncing photos? It makes everything stop syncing and its the only way I've found. Can anyone offer some advice please?

that's the only way you can do as of now. to delete photos you have to go to picasa web
