Exclamation WIFI Issues (from one access point to another)

Let's say point A and point B are 5 miles away. There is a WIFI access point at A called BOB and another WIFI access point at B called TOM.

Both are remembered in my settings and my old phone will automatically detect and connect it whenever I am at A or B. When I am leaving A, the phone will auto disconnect BOB and connect to TOM when I am going to B.

But Nexus 4 just wouldnt work. I had to turn off my WIFI and turn it on again for it to connect new WIFIs. The process is slow too while "turn-ing on WIFI"

Is this a known issue? Im at 4.2.1.

This isnt a known issue as far as I am aware. My nexus 4 connects to whichever wifi is closest to me.

My phone also has problems with wi-fi. Sometimes it will auto-connect to my home or work networks. But many times I have to turn wi-fi off and on for it to connect. Pretty annoying.

I've had something similar happen occasionally. It seems we have similar symptoms. I'll notice sometimes that I'm not connected to an SSID even though it's a remembered connection. I'll go into the WiFi list and see the SSID saved. I have to shut off my WiFi and turn it back on for it to connect, and it takes awhile to turn on the WiFi. I haven't had a chance to do much searching yet, but a quick search yesterday didn't find anything.

I have a new N4, and I'm having a problems connecting to free wifi APs like Sams Club and WalMart and the local library. The connection process seems way too slow and non-intuitive, but it may just be my inexperience or perhaps my N4 settings. What seems to be the problem is the welcoming or splash screen you always see with free wifi. After I agree with the terms and click connect, it almost appears the N4 doesn't know what to do. It asks if I want to save the image of the connect button, do I want to start another page or tab; all questions that are inappropriate and unnecessary. At this point the wifi icon will usually be grayed out, so I can't use the internet even though the N4 thinks it has connected. If I then let it run for what seems like minutes, it will finally connect. Since I'm still within the 15 day time frame on sending my N4 back, I'm anxious to know if I have a problem with my phone. I would greatly appreciate some fellow N4 owners trying to connet to free wifi at either WalMart, Sams or the library.

Damnit. Why is Nexus 4 so problematic? So many issues around. Is it because of the cheap build quality?
