Anyone else get the "Google settings" app automatically installed on their phone?

If you're talking about the Settings app where you do things like adjust your display/notifications/wifi/security/about phone, etc..., it's on my N4. However it's not called Google Settings, it's called Settings. Are you saying that on your phone, the app is missing?

EDIT: Oops, I just looked closer at your posted pic, and see what you're talking about. I do not have that app called Google Settings. Actually, I've never seen it, nor do I have a clue what it's for. I can't even find it in the market.

Yup I have that Google Settings Icon as shown by the OP. Had to have been a recent update to Google+ that placed the icon in the drawer.

I have never seen that before. Looking around it does not seem to be a Google app. I would try and delete it myself if possible, seems fishy.

By the way are you stock or using a custom ROM?

INteresting that everything is turned off by default - but that might be from the damn battery guru app???

I am completely stock right now.

Just noticed that app, pretty sure it's something added by some sort of update on a Google app. Looks totally legit.

I like it. Gives you easy control over all things google in one easily accessible place.

Noticed this app on my phone today. Tried to search for it on play store and couldn't find it. So... I deleted and reboot my phone. Now I noticed that is a legit useless app... Bravo google.

It's not useless. It allows you to control the settings for Maps, Plus, and Search (for now) from one place, and it will probably be updated with other Google app settings in the future. I think it's actually a good thing. Not like it's taking up a lot of space, anyway.

I think this was already available if you went to accounts in the settings, and im pretty sure when I used to mess around with the maps settings. I guess they just made it into an app for easier access.

Seems like a lot of people were freaking out about this suddenly added app that all the android websites have articles about it.

Admittedly I thought I had malware.
