Bluetooth experience from owners?
My current pos phone has one major issue, Bluetooth phone audio is terribly unreliable. Maybe one in three calls actually can be answered and heard.
Anyone using BT phone headsets with their nexus 4, everything work OK?
Looking to buy a nexus 4 when my contact is up soon.
Thx

Re: Bluetooth experience from owners?
For what it's worth, I use it through my car's connection all the time and it's fine; no one on the other end complains and I hear them clearly. Every once in a blue moon, it will disconnect for a moment and reconnect a second later. My Galaxy Nexus used to do that. I chalk it up to interference.
It is going to depend on a lot on which headset you use. Good ones have significant noise canceling.Thanked by: - 03-03-2013, 08:24 PM #3

+1 on using with the car. It works like a champ with my car. Have several jawbones but stop using them because I cannot keep them charged. Sometimes use wired earbuds with a mic for longer calls.

Re: Bluetooth experience from owners?
I use a regular blue tooth and I don't have any problems. When I press the button on the bluetooth I get the sexy voice asking me the name I would like to call or text. "Nexi" is kinda hard of hearing... I usually just use the phone to dial.
If my post helped you out...please be kind and hit the "THANKS BUTTON."

Re: Bluetooth experience from owners?
I had problems with my BT headset when I first got my N4. Then I realized that it was about five years old and an entry level Motorola model. It would connect but I would have to pair it each time I wanted to use it. I went out and bought a $20 Samsung headset that had good reviews and it has worked perfectly. Better sound quality, better looking and it pairs instantly.
I also pair with a 2007 Acura and have had no issues with it. - 03-07-2013, 01:45 AM #9
Re: Bluetooth experience from owners?
I'm using Plantronics Backbeat Go, Bluetooth stereo earphones and they work like a charm. The second they're turned on they connect instantly. In fact the tone that signals you its being turned on gets interrupted by the tone that signals you its connected, its super fast. The audio is awesome. I have left my phone charging and literally walked 33 feet away (had a tape measure lol) and the music played flawlessly. My older phone and older bluetooth's would of at least started to crackle in the audio from so far away.
The bass is awesome and the audio clarity is superb. Pause and play work great with the headset, volume up and down are great, I can skip forward and back threw tracks and also answer calls fine too. The only thing that was a little weird for me since I'm not used to it was that when I get a text, I actually here the the ringtone for it within the headset. It also cuts into my music (lowers my music temporarily and goes back). When I receive a call it pauses my music and then will continue where it left off after the call is ended. Another thing is it plays all the notifications from Fb,Gmail and reg mail too. When there's no music playing it seems to pick up all the sounds from the phone, all the clicks and whatnot, that's a little weird but not a big deal for me.
So far my Bluetooth experience has been great with my Nexus 4 and these new Backbeat Go's. I'd recommend them to anyone. Don't even bother with the default ear tips though, switch them out to the small ones. Only then I was amazed by the sound clarity and bass. - 03-07-2013, 02:51 AM #10

Re: Bluetooth experience from owners?
BT works fine for me via Plantronics Voyager headset. Not so well through my car, 2012 Acura. Doesn't voice dial calls. Not a big deal with me since I almost always use headset because it sounds much better.
I use the car BT for media (mainly Pandora) and that works perfectly. Sound is much better than I expected. Only issue is the lag in connecting. Takes a couple minutes to initially connect or re-connect after a call. But it always connects eventually and doesn't drop afterwards. - 03-07-2013, 09:29 AM #12

I am using Kinivo BT set and audio quality is fine. But when I try to talk through Viber or Skype both applications disconnect.I donno whether it is the headset problem or android problem.Because it disconnects in my ASUS tablet also in Skype.

Re: Bluetooth experience from owners?
Not so good experience with a parrot mki9100.
Playing mp3 is fine, everything between BT and phone works great except (would be simple if wasn´t the main use) sound level in incoming calls.
People ear me well, however for me the received sound is too low.
Don´t know if it could be fixed with kernel (franco for example), just dont want to flash another rom because stock is suit me very well (except for this situation).
Could another kernel improve audio over BT?

Re: Bluetooth experience from owners?
On my N4, with 2 different BT headsets, the headset loses connection to the phone every 10 minutes or so. Bluetooth on this phone has basically proven unusable for talking. Is anyone else having this problem? I have tried a Plantronics Voyager HD Pro, which worked perfectly on my iPhone 4s, but disconnects when used with the N4. Also a new Motorola CommandOne -- same problem.
The Plantronics Voyager HD Pro is otherwise excellent -- sound quality, battery life, etc. The Motorola is average.
Also, Google has replaced my N4, and the bluetooth disconnecting problem is still there on the new unit (both v4.2.2)
Considering it never occurred on the iPhone when used in the same places, under the same circumstances, with the same headset, I have to conclude it's either the N4 phone, or software. - 03-21-2013, 05:33 PM #19
