Delete Multiple Contacts ?? Nexus 4
Hi, I am using Google Nexus 4 (LG) for the past few months and I haven't been able to figure out a way to delete multiple contacts at once. All it allows me is to select a contact, click on menu and then delete it? Is this the only way?
A convenient way I found was to go to the Web version of Gmail and delete/update my contacts/lists there and then sync it up to my phone- but I couldn't find an easier way to do it just using the phone.
If they don't have a way then it'd be a shame since thats like one of the basic features in phones in the last 5 yrs or so.

You're unable to do it with the Nexus 4. Not sure if it's a JB thing or a Google thing.
Re: Delete Multiple Contacts ?? Nexus 4
Looks like the developers at Google did a major blunder at this-- I mean this option was available with Nokia phones which were about a 7-8 years old.
Re: Delete Multiple Contacts ?? Nexus 4
Just because you can't do it on stock, doesn't mean it can't be done, it is Android after all - there's an App for that!
Try "EX Dialer & Contacts"--> [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]
Personally I prefer not being able to though, that way if I accidentally delete a Contact it's less to need to remember as it'll be just one.
You can also do it via Contacts.Google.com if you really need it & don't want to use a 3rd-party App.

Re: Delete Multiple Contacts ?? Nexus 4
Thanks a lot Lanhoj, for that piece of information. I will try that app out and post my review of how effective it is (for the functionality I am looking for)
Re: Delete Multiple Contacts ?? Nexus 4
Tried the App- Does exactly what I wanted.. Thanks Lanhoj
Re: Delete Multiple Contacts ?? Nexus 4
I face the same issue. I couldnt figure out exdialer option that allows "select all" and "delete" options for contacts (people tab). Does one require the Pro version? I downloaded the free version - trial for 7 days. Please suggest. Thanks.
Just found what I needed, albeit a different app - FANTASTIC. Its called "[Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]"
It provides a simple option "Delete All Contacts."
Now, I am ready to import contacts afresh.
Re: Delete Multiple Contacts ?? Nexus 4
I just went to Google Contacts online and did this a few months ago. I wanted to delete everything and then import them once again from a .csv file. It worked and the contacts were instantly deleted from my Nexus 4. Once I imported the new contacts file, all of them were pushed to my phone. Was easy to do.
Re: Delete Multiple Contacts ?? Nexus 4
i use google contacts from web to manage them. easier than using the phone.
Re: Delete Multiple Contacts ?? Nexus 4
Go to "People" Apps in the Apps menu. You will see your list of contacts. If you see multiple names for the same contact i.e. A and A', go inside A & click the 3 dots at top. It gives an option of "Join" multiple contacts. You can merge them & it is pretty simple.
Took some time to figure out that though.
