1. Pure Android/Google. No custom skins, or bloat.
2. Easily Unlocked bootloader and root.
3. Always updated quickly (at least GSM models).
4. No Contract Price for those that can buy from the Play Store.

My reasons are:

• It's how much I believe such a phone should cost;
• It's unlocked;
• It's penta-band;
• It's stock with no carrier bloat;
• ~~It came with a plate of fresh-made bacon~~.

I owned the LTE gnex since launch. Until recently I owned the gnex, sgs3, gn2 briefly (to flip), and the N4. I impulse bought a SGS3 and quickly hated touchwiz...cm/aokp were buggy to me since I'm used to them on a Nexus/AOSP device. So I returned it to stock, gave it to my lady, and continued using my gnex. She loved that SGS3 dearly until she spent a few days with her new aokp pub N4

The point, never had I owned a device like the gnex that still felt snappy, fresh, and cutting edge well after a year of owning it (even if it wasn’t hardware wise, software is king imo). Never had any new device envy, and I frequent tech forums. I really only bought the Nexus 4s (one for the lady too) because of how much money we’re saving on our prepaid plans. That said, there is no arguing the Nexus 4 is better than the gnex in every aspect (including LTE once Tmobile flips the switch and HSPA+ is fast anyway), and being a Nexus I know it will still feel cutting edge many months from now because of the software updates and amazing development community. It truly is the ultimate buy and hold or bang for your buck device. A lot of fact in that last statement of opinion
