Nexus 4 and also Android 5

I was looking around and really can't find any meaningful (or serious) discussions here yet, so...

Evidently, Google I/O 2013, which will be taking place in the Moscone Center in San Francisco on May 15-17, is where Google will likely fully disclose Android 5. I'm just curious if there is any present information to be found on features, improvements, etc. One place I looked at suggested Kernel 3.8 might show up, but I'm not seeing much yet.

I believe Google will release their watch, and a updated Nexus 7 and 10. No new Nexus phone though. As for Android 5.0, I wouldn't think so. So far I haven't seen any leaks or anything to suggest KLP will be released then or near release level yet. Not sure what the 13 would stand for in the logo though. Maybe a 13 inch Nexus tablet, or a chromebook?

I'm assuming the 13 refers to this being the 2013 Google I/O show.

I would assume a new Nexus 7 tablet, an announcement about the next Android version and what it features and possibly a new device as well. Hoping its Key Lime Pie and the release it relatively quick so I can get it on my Nexus 4. I Dont think much information has been leaked to what the show will have featured but its always awesome.

I dont know if you guys have followed google IO before but I have been following it for the past 4 years.

This is the trend with IO for the past 2 years. they reveal a new OS,new hardware(recently its Nexus devices and less other Android devices) and some new google services/features added to Android and chrome.

2011 it was chromebook, chrome OS, google music unveiled. ICS was unveiled as well.

2012 was Nexus 7,Nexus Q, Google+ features,Chrome for Android stable, google drive/docs improvements and JellyBean 4.1 released

2013 its going to be Nexus7 2, Google bable a new unified communication service from google repacing gtalk/google+ messenger/hangout. KLP will be released

There wont be Nexus10 2 or nexus4 2 devices. google release nexus phones somewhere on oct- dec which they did for nexus 4 and 10.

before 2011 it was just them talking about google services, app engines, chrome and android

Its widely speculated that Google will release 5.0. I'm pretty sure it's been said simply by the company. Its hard to say what it will entail beyond project roadrunner because some projects are just released before 5.0 that are part of its vision. Among them is Babble which will unify a number of goggles services into one format. More speculative in nature is the notion that it will come stock with a lot of customization features like many home launchers offer.

If KLP is truly going to be announced at I/O they're keeping a real tight lid on leaks. One thing's for sure - whenever it does actually go live we'll be seeing the usual flood of "when is Samsung/HTC/Moto?Sony going to give us KLP!?!?" threads along with the usual gnashing of teeth over carrier delays on top of that for several months after we get it on ours

It has always been that way. Android feature for new releases is always kept a secret until it is revealed.
I cant wait to see what KLP is bringing to Android. I am excited about Google babel.

How many features of ics and jb were leaked beforehand? All I remember is majel being talked about, which became google now. I don't know whether to expect leaks before or not.

KLP might also be versioned as 4.3. Eclair, Froyo and Gingerbread were all 2.x with Honeycomb being 3.0 because it was 'optimized' for tablets, then Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 to unify tablets and phones, 4.1 and 4.2 are both Jelly Bean (which is a break from the tradition, but somewhat makes sense). KLP being 4.3 would follow the 2.x trend, being 5.0 would really only make sense to me if they're adding support baked in for additional hardware, such as the watch, Glass or desktop.

Honestly I'm not sure. Probably just that it didn't suck more than anything's ever sucked before I came on during Froyo and wasn't a big Android enthusiast until during Gingerbread.

Just searched it, and apparently it was a revamped UI and a bunch of other minor things. Then again, everything until Gingerbread was pretty much a minor update.
