Weird line/dark area on screen...

I noticed a strange squiggly/winding (for lack of better descriptive words) line or darkened area starting about midway down the left side of the screen. It disappears when I open most apps but stays on the background wallpaper and when I open the camera, settings and a few other basic functions.

I tried factory reset to no avail. Since it's not everywhere, seems like it should be something that I can fix. Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer some insight.

+1... I'd like to see a couple of shots with squiggly line and without.

Odd that it can't be recreated on every screen...

What's the difference? Dark background vs light? Any common conditions for when it appears? Sounds like it is only on baked in functions (stock) and not add on Apps...
