Dialer no longer present after 4.4 Download

My dialer app is now replaced with the generic android picture. When I click it, it says "App ISNT installed"

Am I going to have to factory restore?

I haven't updated yet. But I can guess that the dialer was replaced with a completely new dialer. So maybe you just need to go into your app drawer and grab the new one and place it on your home screen. I could be wrong.

Mine vanished but the new one was just chillin in the app drawer
If yours isn't there look for the apk to download, no need to factory reset

u have to drag and remove them and drag drop the new dialer icon.

this is because the dialer icon changed after the update and the home screen shortcut is pointing at the old icon path
