Has anyone ever had this happen? Was installing 4.4.1 through CWM and it was taking a while. Then sped up and about halfway through I got an error and it was aborted.
Now I'm still on 4.4 (s) and I noticed that the transparent nav buttons and notification bar is present along with some new keyboard sounds.

I'll have to check again. I'm completely stock and rooted so I don't know why it stopped halfway through. Actually, this has happened with the last update as well. Had to end up flashing the image.

Sent from my Nexus 4 using AC Forums mobile app

Just tried it and it still failed... Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
The answer can be explained here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...uld-not-update-your-nexus-4-kitkat-4-4-a.html
OTA updates have lots of checks and if it detects any changes to the system it may refuse to install.

Anyway, use Titanium Backup or something to back up your apps data. Then flash only the "system" parition back stock using my flash package: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ne...4-stock-using-cwm-twrp-krt16s-4-4-kitkat.html

The update will also fail if your "radio" is not stock as well.

Then try applying the OTA again (with TWRP).

Went to the link and it keeps giving me an error when trying to download the "system" file.

EDIT: Got it working after multiple retries.

Your TWRP version is outdated. Techerrata Downloads - Browsing mako
Use fastboot to flash it, if you don't know how, rename the twrp img file to "recovery.img", put it in my flashable recovery package, and flash it, then reboot recovery.

Or just flash the stock recovery and use adb sideload to flash the OTA.

Flashed stock recovery and tried to sideload. It got to the very end and then aborted installation because of an error.
I am not sure where I went wrong with all of this but I am simply just going to flash the Google image and save myself the headache.
Thanks for taking the time to reply and help with the issue.
