Nexus 4 Shutting Down During Skype Video Call

I recently bought a Nexus 4 (2 weeks old). I tried Skype for the first time, today. While conversing with my wife, my phone just shut down. I have to turn it on again to resume chatting. It happened twice within 30 minutes. I still have jellybean, im afraid to upgrade to kitkat because of the problems i've read. I never experienced this before with my Xperia U and Samsung Wave II. Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions to solve this issue? Thanks a lot! :'(
