Nexus 4 screen unresponsive and other problems

Hope someone can help with this...my screen is becoming unresponsive more often than not. In addition to this, in spite of having good signals (wedge and fan) and being told I';m connected to my home router, I am constantly told I don't have an internet connection and emails are not appearing on the phone. Is this something I can fix or is it worth getting the phone repaired (if that's the problem) It's out of warranty. Many thanks for any info.

I might try a factory reset to see if that solved the problems. Back up any data not on the cloud before doing it.

This happens to me pretty often as well. I don't know if it's my hardware or something else. The way I fix it is by hard-power off and then power-on. Happens at least once a week.
