Crackling handset speaker after repair; ideas?

After successfully self-repairing the charging port (using youtube video IUVSmsFLqQg , which was a great help), there is now a very loud crackling sound on the phone if I'm using the handset speaker. BT headset is fine, speakerphone is fine; only the handset speaker has this problem.

The person on the other end can also hear the crackling.

Do you have any idea what I might have messed up and how I might fix it?

For future searchers: I fixed it by reading the Nexus 4 teardown on fixit dot com to find out where the contacts were between the parts in question and the motherboard, and gently stretching out the contacts so they would by more contact-y.
