Why haven't I gotten a OTA update on my nexus 4

Ok, my nexus 4 is running on 4.2 and I wanted to get a ota update but when I manually check for updates, it says it is up to date. I have tried clearing data of framework thingy and checking for updates but I always get to same results. Is there another way for me to get a ota update?

Other than it being pushed to you (which is the normal way - you'll suddenly get a popup that an update is available and be asked if you want it), no. If there's none, it means that your carrier (not Google) sends the updates, and doesn't have one for your phone, or has opted to not send any.

You can probably find one for your phone on XDA Forums and apply it manually (the thread you find it in will have directions and lots of posts commenting on it).
