Currently running Android 4.4.4 on my Nexus 4. I have an update to Lollipop 5.0.1 available.

I heard that when Lollipop first came out for Nexus 4 there were some issues. Did these get cleared up with the 5.0.1 update? Still better to avoid Lollipop on the Nexus 4? Better to wait for 5.1? Any ETA for 5.1 on the Nexus 4?

This is a Google Play edition Nexus 4 if that makes any difference.

If I new, I better kept 4.4.4.
Now on 5.0.1, but don't like it. Don't see benefits, but see some useless changes in UI.
Rolled back to 4.4.4. on Nexus 7 - became toooo slow.

When I upgraded to 5.0 on my Nexus 4 it broke something and ran super slow and laggy. I had to do a full wipe and reinstall and that restored the performance.

My N4 is now on 5.0.1 and suffers from the sleep of death bug where it never wakes up and you have to perform a hard reset to get it working.

KitKat 4.4.4 was the most stable OS for my N4. If 5.1 doesn't fix all the bugs I'm going back to KitKat.

So if you value performance and stability, stay away from lollipop for now.

I generally recommend a factory reset for any update as big as the jump from Kit Kat to Lollipop, which is why I recommend waiting for 5.1. Just get it all done at once.
