How do I get out of Download Mode please

When I came home and picked up my Nexus 4 the black screen said "Download Mode. Do not unplug the device until the process is complete . "

I have no clue what happened . When I left for work this morning the phone was charging.

Anyway I held the power button to no avail. And a forum search led me to answers starting with pull my battery . Of corse no can do on N4, so how do I fix this please?

How long did you hold the Power button down for? Try holding for at least 15-20 seconds. If nothing happens, try holding Power and Vol Down at the same time for that long.

B. Diddy I think I held down both Power and Vol Down for close to 20 secs ... but to be sure I will try again. Wish me luck. I will read the link you provided then give it a go.

Thanks P Diddy. Held down buttons for half a minute this time and was able to reboot.
