Speedtest - CAUTION

Check this out - Nexus 5, I have used Speedtest 5 times; 271MB.

I don't normally worry about my data or even bother to check it because I have a large data package and even if I go over, it's like only another $10 or $15 to add another GB. I was just checking mobile data because I lost my signal at lunch, and - WOW - Speedtest has used 271MB? After just 5 uses. That is insane!

Well....

Speedtest works (as do all such speed test apps) by first downloading a large amount of data and then uploading a similarly large amount of data. The exact amounts (in the case of Speedtest.net) seems to be dependent on the amount of data which can be moved in each direction during a 15 second period. So, the faster your connection, the more data you will consume.
