Default Help choosing an SMS program

Hey everyone, I would like some help choosing an SMS program.

I currently use Textra. Textra handles group messaging great, especially with iphone users. However, if I use the "ok google" text command, those messages get sent, but do not show up in Textra.

Can anyone suggest an app that:

    1. handles group messaging well
    2. handles the voice commands well (meaning that they will get sent, and appear in the SMS app).

    Thanks!

True. This is the one thing that has me looking for Textra alternatives. Gave Hangouts and Chomp a spin today but both wouldn't send or receive MMS/picture messages....very annoying. Hopefully Textra fixes this in an update soon (or I can figure out how to get Hangouts or Chomp to handle MMS properly).

?? I have sent and received dozens of MMS/picture messages with my N5 using Hangouts, to/from both Android phones and iPhones.

Well....mine seems to be working to send MMS now. I think it was a .gif that my friend was trying to send me earlier and kept failing. Anyone have any quick instructions for how to send a .gif to someone via text? I have been trying to send one to myself and even though on the sent part of my log it is animated, the received end simply gets a still picture.
