Default Google wonders how far they can go

I actually have come to love Google in the past 6 weeks thanks to my Nexus 5 (and the GEL) so this is not a critical post, but something I thought was interesting.

There is a survey app I downloaded which asks me stuff related to manufacturers and products. Last night the survey had about 5 to 8 questions (I didn't count them) about Gmail and Google.

The final question was, "How concerned are you that a sender is notified when you have read their email?" To me, that's a privacy issue unlike Google collecting my search data, etc.

So regardless of how one feels about each individual question, the survey showed me that Google wants to get a feel for how consumers feel about various breaches of privacy, from the innocuous, to the potentially dangerous. I'm glad they are taking our thoughts into consideration.

I think I ran into that question recently. I agree, at least they are asking how we think about it.

Is that the survey for credit thing google is doing? i thought about it, but opt not to involved.

Google right now is a massive inter-connected machine, aims to turn every online activity into money.

There is really little way to escape, yes, they do give people options to opt out with major changes, but the system is so massive, so complex, its not possible to completely be aware of thing you may not intend to share at all. Best solution, if somebody is privacy concerned, is to find alternative to google apps when possible.

To be honest a lot of emails do it.
On windows outlook I got a notification saying a email sent to be the sender requested to be notified when I read it and I have the option to report or not to report I read it.

    Glad they gave that option.

yeah, that's the thing to do, it will depends on how google implements it. If its just like others, let sender explicitly initiate the flag, and let receiver decide if a notification is send, then its fine. If its a blanket function where receiver has no control, then its bad.

Last night the Google Survey wanted to know if I use my phone in the bathroom. Hmm. Then they wanted to know which app! :what: lol!

Probably to know when people use their phones and what type of apps they use to kill time.

Maybe so they can create on to use in that time ha.

My old phone landed in there without being on it!
Had it on the bench next to it while brushing my teeth, head phones plugged in, turned around and the momentum on the turn flicked in straight in. Thank god only water was in there.

Reminds me of that Tmobile commercial where he has his phone in rice to dry it out.

I riced it. I eventually got a new one soon (nexus 4 at the time). I use it as a spare it kept acting up e.g. non responsive digitiser or broken LCD every grew months, figured it was time for an upgrade.

Always was crappy. I leave it open so I don't have to lift it when I want to pee.
