can't text with consumer cellular

I can get mobile web with consumer cellular on my nexus 5. But I can't send or receive any text messages is this a common problem?

I don't text much, but just gave it a try and no problem sending or receiving via Hangouts.
Check your settings.

Check your APN settings as suggested by camanokid. That should fix the issue.

I tried all day yesterday to get the apn right for my data. After several tries I put a . at the end of att.mvno and got data but no texting. take the . out and don't get either

I revised my post to add red color text for my changes.
Check them closely.
Be care NOT to put a space between NAME: ConsumerCellular
Also I noticed the parm for MMS Port: 80 was missing from the parm list.

I talked to cc they asked if my sim card ended in 1971. I did not so there sending me the right sim card. Now I just have to wait for the mail to start coming again. (weather related haven't gotten any mail so far this week

I had some problems getting both data and text with Consumer Cellular. Here's the Access Point Name (APN) settings that worked for me.
