For years, I've been using an iPhone 3GS to access photos, etc., on my Synology NAS - it worked quite happily when I was out, both over wifi and 3G.
I've recently swapped the iPhone for a Nexus 5, and now I find that I'm not able to access the NAS over 3G (I'm on O2 in the UK), but I can access it over wifi when I'm out, e.g. in shops, libraries, etc., so it's not a port-forwarding issue. Using the same apps on my work Galaxy S3 (on Vodafone), I find that I can access the NAS over 3G.
So my first thought was that O2 were blocking one of the ports required. Then I installed a port-scanning app on both phones, and they both showed that all of the required ports were open on both O2 and Vodafone.
It would therefore appear to be Nexus 5 or Kit Kat related - is anyone else having similar problems?
