Nexus 5 LED indicator is not very consistant

I've noticed over the past few weeks since owning my N5 that the LED notification light does not work half the time (not using any 3rd party apps to control the light just the stock setting under the settings/display setting.) Is this because I'm not using a 3rd party app or does this even happen when using 3rd party apps to control the LED?

I use light flow (premium) and the light is still inconsistent

I don't use any third party led control apps but my led works consistently.

I use light flow lite when using hangouts and have very consistent notifications. When I opt to use Textra, which has its own led control, I still have consistent notifications.

The only third party led control apps I use is Textra for SMS that turns the notification led green but my led colors works consistently. I have given up on Hangout since it just too quirky and undependable for my SMS use.

Try light manager. I find its more consistent and reliable than light flow.
