Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
Now that we know the specs for the new Nexus 6(X), will you make the jump or is the size and specs enough for you to stay with the Nexus 5? I love the Nexus 5 and the size is perfect for me. 5.9 inch is just too big for me to haul around. What about you?

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
I just got a used 32gb Nexus, so no I won't. This phone is light years ahead of my HTC One X. Unless Android L severely slows this phone down, I'm sticking with this phone for a few years.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
If I was looking for a new phone, I'd probably go for it in a heartbeat. But my Nexus 5 is only 6 months old, so I don't see a need to upgrade for a while. And I'm still not sure the size of the purported Nexus 6 is right for me.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
i JUST got my Nexus 5 a few weeks ago and have no plans of getting a new phone anytime soon. And even if i were to get a new phone, 6" screen is just way too big...im still getting used to 5" screen. I really hope Google plans to release a 5" screen model along side the bigger, leaked models.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
Nexus or no, I don't want a 6" phone. It's coming up for 12 months for me with the N5 and for the first time in 5 years I don't feel the need to buy a newer phone. If the release version of Android L runs as well as the developer preview I'll have no problem waiting another 12 months.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
I passed on the Note 3 for the N5 last year because I'd much rather have stock Android over any skin out there... So I am super stoked for this device... I've found the 5.5 inch LG G3 and 5.7 inch Note 3 (4) to be comfortable to use and not all that big really... so 5.9 ish should be perfect.. I'll probably sell my N4 and 2013 N7 and just have the one device....

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
Probably not. 6" isn't even a phablet, it's an undersized tablet. I was looking forward to a 5'2" QHD Nexus phone which feels like the right size. I compared the size of the LG G3 to the N5 (by placing the N5 on top of a G3) and it's almost the same size which means that it's possible to build a comfortable 5.2" phone. I'm still hoping that the rumor mill is wrong and that the next Nexus won't be a 6" monster, or that there will be two sizes of Nexus 6 phones. Until recently the rumor mill was focused on a 5.2" Motorola phone, but apperently that phone is the new Verizon Droid. As a former Galaxy Nexus owner I will never ever be dependent on Verizon for updates again so there is no way I would ever consider a Verizon Droid.
On the bright side I'm completely happy with the N5 running L (been using L since the developer release was announced), so it's not the worst thing in the world to use it for another year. - 10-03-2014, 03:13 PM #9

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
Probably not. It's just too big. I already have a good tablet.
If the camera is exceptional, I might still upgrade. But I am probably staying with the Nexus 5 until a good Android Silver/One/Nexus/whatever comes along. - 10-03-2014, 05:27 PM #11
Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
I'm quite happy with my Nexus 5, it's still a great phone, so no need to upgrade. But 5.9" is too big anyway, sometimes I feel my Nexus 5 is a little too big, so when I do upgrade a 5" will probably be my limit. I can always use a tablet when I do want a larger screen to read on.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
At 5.9", the Nexus 6 is just too big for my tastes. Right now, the 2014 Moto X interests me more.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
I just don't know, tbh. I am a sucker for every Nexus phone that Google puts out and for that reason it is on my radar. But I'm not sure how I would manage such a large device on a day to day basis. My other half uses a Lumia 1520 (wonderful phone), but I always feel phablets are more manageable for women, who almost invariably carry small bags with them everywhere.
My other niggling problem is that there is a distinct whiff of 'Plan B' about this device. The mock-ups and reports suggest a GPE (or Silver, if you like) type device that has been re-branded as a Nexus. While that isn't the biggest problem in the world (and the specs certainly sound top notch), it detracts from the Nexus brand as its own thing (imo); something cooked up specifically by Google. The Shamu leaks, superficially at least, give every appearance of Google passing off Motorola's homework as its own.
That being said, I can seldom resist the draw of a Nexus device and I imagine I'll still be there on the Play store come launch day, for both this and the Nexus 9. - 10-04-2014, 10:23 AM #16
Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
I'm comfortable with the Nexus 5 and don't think I'll be switching to the Nexus 6. Originally, my eye was set on the Moto X 2014, but since Sprint doesn't appear to be offering it I won't be able to get it - switching carriers is not an option at the moment either.
Either way, I'm having lots of fun with the Nexus 5. - 10-04-2014, 10:39 AM #17

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
No, I could care less about the new features. It's mostly a bigger, higher resolution screen, more ram, and a better processor/gpu. A nice finishing upgrade but no incentive for Nexus 5 owners.
How about we just keep getting more android updates instead. Oh wait.... this is Google... "18 months," right? - 10-04-2014, 12:13 PM #19
Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
If the rumors are true regarding the N6 I will not be upgrading. I believe android L will assist with the few issues I have with my N5. Also, while I love LG, I have never been a huge fan of Motorola. Very disappointed LG didn't get the nod for the N6 after producing two great Nexus devices. I hate the idea of the 5.9 inch display. I don't want to walk around with a tablet in my pocket. As long as android L assists with battery life on the N5 I will be sitting tight.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
For me it's a no. The Nexus5 does everything I need it to do. If the time comes that it won"t I'd be looking into installing CM on it for some additional features.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
I just got my Nexus 5 a few months ago- 4 months, to be exact. It's too soon to switch phones. If the Nexus 6 is really 6 inches, I'd never consider switching. The Nexus 5 is already my limit for the size of my phone. If that changes, maybe I'll get whatever they release next year.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
I was going to upgrade from my rooted Nexus 4 to the 5, but I want to see what Google offers this month and next. I'm like a lot of people that don't want anything larger than a 5" screen. I really want something with a kick *** camera like the galaxy S5.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
If true, too big for me.
I will go with Moto X or Xperia Z3 Compact (pending availability and price, etc.) - 10-05-2014, 02:55 AM #24
Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
I'm still more than happy with my nexus 5. The screen on this thing still amazes me and once android L is available it will feel like a new device with the new material design throughout. Having said that I will be interested in a new nexus either way but not sure a 5.9" display is the way to go.

Re: Will you jump from the Nexus 5 to the Nexus 6 (X) or will you stay?
If it were a 5" phone, yes, I would consider it. But I am fairly sure I don't want a 6" "phone". I want SIZE CHOICE when it comes to the Nexus.
Besides, my Nexus 5 is only 8 months old and it works great. The ONLY two things I dislike about it are the side power button and the relatively small battery. (Usually I have a list a mile long of the things I dislike in a device).Click "Thanks" and/or "Like" button on posts where someone helped you or you liked the posting.
