Sorry for being an *****, I have a Nexus 5 and upgraded to Android 5, since then I have noticed at the top I have the clock, followed by battery indicator, then signal and wireless icons, i now appear to have a 'No entry' type symbol.

My phone appears to be working fine, what is this symbol and do i need to worry?

Many thanks

You must have set "No interruptions". Unless you don't want any interruptions due to phone calls/text/etc, use volume key, and change to "all"

Just hold the Volume Key all the way down to the bottom and a window will pop up where you can choose from No interruptions, Priority, or All.

No Interruptions will give you that circle with a slanted line through the circle, Priority Mode will give you a solid white star, and All will not put any icon in the Notification Bar.
