Nexus 5 Stuck on "ERASING"

So I'm trying to sell my Nexus 5 and I went to factory reset it from the settings. It's been stuck on ERASING for over half an hour. Is this normal? Should I just let it go? I've tried to reboot and nothing will work.

Yeah. It finally finished. Took about an hour and a half. No clue why it took so long.

I'd never seen an Android phone take that long before. I was worried something happened. I had just sold it on Swappa and didn't want to have to refund the money. All is good now, though. Guess if it ever happens again I'll just plug the charger and let it ride.

I too ran into this long loop. I thought I had done something wrong, but after about half an hour all was okay.

Happened to me when I traded my nexus 5 in... The factory reset took well over an hour. Not sure why, but I was patient and it eventually cleared.

Mine has been stuck on that stupid robot saying erasing for 1 day now. I have tried everything. Its going in the trash.

Came here as mine did the same, took over 2 hours in the end, with a red triangle at one stage. All ok in the end.

I had the same thing with my N5 today. Red triangle and then endless "Erasing"
