Google hasn't announced anything one way or the other. The rumors for this are generally based on a bit of code that referenced it, but anyone not a Google employee that says whether it is or isn't (today) is speculating. So far everything (100% rumors also) about the Silver line indicates it will begin in early 2015. That doesn't seem to impact the Nexus line, which typically releases in Q4 - although it is obviously possible that it could. evleaks is the primary origin of almost (if not) all of the information about the Silver line and said it will start with a device in 2015 made by LG.

If it's coming out and LG gets a third shot at it, then these could be the possible specs:

5 inch 1080p display
Snapdragon 805 with 2 GB of RAM
13 MP camera that has OIS and Dual Flash (I kinda doubt it will have Laser Auto Focus)
Improved front camera
1 Watt speaker with booster amp (probably moved to the back)
16 and 32 GB internal storage options
2600 mAh battery

Well if there is indeed a Nexus 6 then we should get one leak or another in the coming 2 months, be it some dodgy screenshot of some component caught on camera that is rumoured to go into the device or a passing through the FCC around July-August.

Though with Evleaks saying that the Nexus line is over and a giant Silver Android statue was spotted, if I had to put down 50 quid on a gamble then I would say there will be no LG G3 style Nexus 6 in November but there will be a first Google Silver device in Q1 2015 with a Snapdragon 810.
Makes the most sense to release a new ''Google'' phone when the 64bit SoC drops, as Google was reportedly working on a 64bit Android version already.

If it does it likely won't be called Nexus 6, I base this on the lawsuit relating to Blade Runner. Nexus alone was enough to get them in legal trouble but being that specific might invite more copyright issues.

IMO they will skip any new hardware until they come out with the silver project.

A google play edition LG G3 would be an excellent thing to put in the product lineup hole this year, even if it is $600.

Nexus devices were really starting to pick up steam too. In years past if I mentioned Nexus anything to friends they wouldn't know what I was talking about but now it's become more popular. They may have to start from scratch if they replace it with a different branding.

There will be no Nexus 6, there will be an Android Silver device early in 2015 with probably the new 64 bit Snapdragon SoC.
Also with the specs you are mentioning there would be no way that they could hold the low price point, Google will just pay OEM's to run near stock android on their future flagship devices to ''replace'' Nexus devices but you will lose the Nexus price point cause the device will have 0 compromises.

You are free to believe that there will be a new Nexus device ( and maybe by some miracle there still will be one ) but until today there has been 0 leaks about the Nexus 6 and if you haven't seen any leak by August ( some part about the phone or some dodgy photo from the device ) then there will be no Nexus in October.

Edit: HTC is the only manufacturer I see making the Nexus 5 (2014). If they did then it would probably also have boomsound speakers.

Those are possible specs. I'm not getting the 2014 Nexus phone (if it will even exist) because I already am content with my 2013 Nexus 5, so those aren't my wants.

1. Google had used the most powerful Snapdragon processor available at the time for the Nexus 4 (S4 Pro) and Nexus 5 (Snapdragon 800). The 805 will be out by the time of the possible fall release.
2. If the 5.5 inch display rumor is indeed true then I'm certain it will have a 1440p display otherwise the ppi count would fall by a significant amount. The 7a and One Plus One have a 5.5 inch 1080p display, but I doubt Google would want a successor to take a step back in ppi count.
   • 5 inch 1080p ~ 441 ppi
   • 5.5 inch 1080p ~ 401 ppi
3. Flagship cameras these days have been coming out with higher megapixels. The 13 MP seems like the new standard of this year. HTC does a good job with there front cameras (5MP, wide angled and all that shizz). Maybe we will finally get a decent front camera this year.

5. Google offered 8 and 16 GB storage options for the Nexus 4 and 16 and 32 GB options for the Nexus 5. We might see a 64 GB option this time around, but I doubt it. To make the most profit Google is probably going to settle for 16 and 32.

It will be interesting if that rumor is true. Hopefully we will find out soon.
