I haven't exactly understood the criticism of it "not being a real Nexus".
I'm quite aware of what nexus was and currently is...thanks for the history lesson. Funny Google doesn’t even mention anymore the word “developer” at any point on the Nexus 5, 6, 9 pages.Because the whole point of the Nexus line is that the phones are completely unmodified by the carriers. No branding, no bloatware. It was created for developers and runs pure Android, no embellishments.
