Speakers Crackling / Getting Low & High

My speakers suddenly got lower volume. I found myself trying to turn the volume louder. Then it starting to make a crackling, cracking noise and the sound got loud again. I listen to podcasts about 3-4 hours daily and I love how loud the speakers are, but this is concerning. I'm thinking this is a hardware problem?

My phone doesn't crackle but i have heard the get low and then high. Idk what that is about. I thought i read somewhere that it was apart of the phone but idk.

Mine has voice quality issues as well. The sound card that Spotify plays through isn't very good compared to my older devices and EQ features are either unable to operate, or the factory MusicFX isn't very good.
