icons/apps don't launch immediately after swipe unlock

I have to tap twice the icons as soon as phone is unlocked in order for apps to launch..any ideas? A bit annoying for a new phone when I'm in a rush

Yea I've had that happen to me as well. I will unlock my N6, tap my email icon (it kinda gets highlighted), and then tap it again to open. Doesn't do this every time, but most of the time.

a month later and still the issue with no solution. anybody else with this issue? this is very annoying when im in a rush. also sometimes when i unlock and hit the phone button and its non responsive..i will hit it again. and then it will dial the contact box i clicked on.

Which launcher are you using, stock or custom?

You could try clearing the cache for the launcher. Go to settings - apps - all - scroll down until you find it.

Another thing could be to download another one (my choice would be Nova) and see if the same problem persist using it.

Stock. Will try clearing cache. Does adding nova slow anything down?

Not at all. The free version is more than enough for a start.

In the settings just clear the cache for now. If you clear data all your homescreen setup will be deleted and you'll have to start from scratch
