Exclude landlines from messaging

Is there any way to exclude landline numbers when selecting contacts in the Messaging app? Several times I've sent a text to a landline because the app defaults to that number. Why doesn't it just show mobile numbers? So annoying!

There's no way to do this with either the stock AOSP Messaging app nor Google Messenger.

You may want to look into other SMS/MMS clients.

I know Textra gives you the option to only list mobile numbers.
It's also a really cool messaging app.
