none of this seems to be working... i went back to factory and tried again on the mac and it didnt work again. I can do everything but root
can you copy paste from terminal what happens when you enter the root commands ...
    chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh
    ./install-superboot-mac.sh

    ---
if we cant get this going i'll give ya instructions on how to do it the truly manual method - this is automated to cut out a few steps but this is usually pretty close to flawless anyhow.
i dont have time tonight bc i gotta write a thing for school on a deadline but i could probably find some time tomorrow if we can't get this way working tonight or in the morning.

thing is tho - you should be able to chmod that file over and install it. and barring that, you should be able to boot recovery anyhow temporarily to just install the su zip. there must be something slightly wrong somewhere. anyhow, we'll get it straightened out somehow.

I didnt see anything happen when i did the chmod command, nothing appeared on the nexus. when I installed the superboot it said it was booting the image on the nexus. I appreciate your help and there isn't any rush with this.

OK lets just try to flash recovery a different way before we do anything else x.

    open up terminal like yesterday.

    cd into the r3superboot folder.

    ./fastboot-mac flash recovery whatevertherecoveryfileiscalled.img

that should flash recovery on the tab, and then you'll enter recovery mode on the tablet, go to install zip from sd card, choose zip, navigate to the su.zip i had ya download yesterday (which is in your download folder on your phone probably - anywhere on sd card is fine as long as you can find it) and select that file - it will install - you will have root.

let me know if that works out.

    k download this recovery - http://download2.clockworkmod.com/re....0-grouper.img

place this file in your r3superboot folder. you can erase the old one if you want it doesnt matter.

put the tab in bootloader mode, cd to the superboot folder, and

    ./fastboot-mac flash recovery recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.0-grouper.img

that should flash the new one. then scroll to recovery with vol keys, select it with power, and hopefully we have you in recovery mode.

Well the only thing I can think of is maybe you're not really unlocked. I'd do 2defs thread to relock, then unlock again, then put the su zip back on the SD card then reapply recovery in terminal.

ok wait one more way to try this same business.

usb debugging on. connect up to cpu.
    cd to superboot folder.

    ./fastboot-mac flash recovery nameofrecovery.img
edit! i fd up the next command:
    ./fastboot-mac reboot bootloader
    ./fastboot-mac reboot-bootloader

now scroll down to recovery on the tab with vol keys, and select recovery with power button.

see if that does it maybe

And now let's try a different recovery.

    Techerrata Downloads - Downloading openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.1-grouper.img

Same deal - download that, place it in the superboot folder. reboot to bootloader, open terminal, cd to superboot folder, and enter the following:

    ./fastboot-mac flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.1-grouper.img
