Has anyone else had problems with orders placed last week? I ordered a Nexus 7 16GB on 9/24 with an estimated shipping date of 9/27. Nothing has happened--no charge on my credit card, no UPS tracking number, no change in the status in Google wallet. I submitted Google's contact form on 10/2 asking if I could get an update on the status of my order, and nothing has come back other than the automated response. Has anyone else had problems recently? Do I need to call Google and sit on the phone on hold for an hour to get this fixed? I know there were a lot of shipping delays with the Nexus this summer, but I thought things were running smoothly now.
Any advice appreciated.
UPDATE 10/9/12:
For anyone who cares--On 10/5/12, I attempted to cancel my order since it hadn't been charged to my credit card or shipped. When I did this, I received an automated e-mail saying that my order had already gone through and was en route to my home. Which it clearly was not.
I called Google help on 10/7/12 and was told that due to a server malfunction, my order got stuck in some kind of limbo the week of 9/24 (nice of them to catch these limbo orders and do something about them...if I hadn't called, would I have ever received it?).
The customer service rep I talked to was very nice and promised to send my order to an "order specialist" who would then push it through the system for fulfillment. I have not heard anything since then, nor has my order status been updated from it's original status.
For a company who probably knows more about my online habits and demographics than I do, and who deals with massive amounts of data, this is the most un-impressive purchase I have made online in the last ten years.
Kind of makes me want to go out and buy an iPad.
Any advice appreciated.
