If 32GB Nexus 7 is released, what about us 16GB Nexus users?

If the rumor is true that the new 32GB Nexus 7 is priced the same as the 16GB model, what do you think they will do about us? Will they give us a free upgrade or something? More realistically, a gift card?

they wouldn't do anything? I mean, newer products usually aren't released just a few months after the original--doesn't make sense from the business perspective (wait until current owners feel an upgrade is justified). its release date probably won't be for at least a couple more months, so at that point it's not like google really owes us anything.

If anything, I can see it priced at $299. Otherwise their whole pricing system will be messed up ($199 for 8GB, $219 for 16GB, $249 for 32GB? doesn't provide much incentive to purchase just the 8GB)

Nintendo did this with the Nintendo 3DS. They gave us a load of free games.

I can see the 8gb going away, then the 16gb being $199 and the 32gb being $250.

Damn auto correct. You always end up posting some thong you didn't Nintendo.

sometimes you have to get over it. I understand its hard but google is trying to cope up with 8 gb low storage Nexus Complaints.

They did give us something, the 25 dollar credit to the play store. I wish they would have given us an OTG cable (that works) also.

So, in your way of thinking, if they drop the price of the 16gb to $199......then Google should give everyone who bought an 8gb something also!!! 3/5 million gift cards......not in this lifetime!!!!

16GB users would just... Have to bite the bullet. Just the way things work. Hate to sound like that cliche guy, but I have my device and have been enjoying it for the past few months. I don't think that's going to change if a 32gb device comes out soon. Not to mention, this is the risk you take when you're an "early adopter"

yeahh there's no way they'd sell the device for under $199, so either the 8GB bites the dust, the 32 GB is more $$, or they reconfigure their pricing system so the 16GB is an awkward, in-between price of $199 and $250--in which case, I guarantee no one would buy the 8GB if they can get double the capacity for like $20 more.

I think the 32GB is going to be priced higher than $250.. but if it isn't and 8GB's are toast, I'd be more pissed as an 8GB user than as a 16GB user lol.

:D :D

Especially those who ordered from the Play store and got hit with shipping and sales tax, running the total close to $240 for the 8GB model.

Yeah, I have to admit that buying from Google Play with the huge shipping fee and taxes sucked!

My 16GB came out to exactly $286.33. Nearly $300... just for the unit alone. GTFO, Google.

agreed on already getting a free $25 to the play store, which was good enough for me. same goes for 16g, i'll never use it all so could care less about the 32g, but for what its worth, I think the 8gig is gone and the 16g will be $199 and the 32gig $249.

I would suggest Google price it like this:

$149 = 8GB
$199 = 16GB
$249 = 32GB

OR

$199 = 8GB
$249 = 16GB
$299 = 32GB

The first option would be best to drive sales and match the Kindle HD during the hot Xmas season coming up. Also to nicely price it to compete with a most likely overpriced iPad Mini. It would make the Nexus 7 that much more appealing. ;)

lol they'd hemorrhage money. It doesn't cost them much for the extra 8gb between the 8gb and 16gb model. Not a chance on earth they'd sell the device for $50 less because of a few gigs' difference, unless they're crazy.
