Hi,

I'm having a problem with my new Nexus 7.
When i switch it on, I select the Language on the 'Welcome' screen.
I'm then taken to the 'Select Wi-Fi' screen. My Wi-Fi router SSID
is listed with the words: 'Saved' and 'secured with WPA2' underneath.
I double tap on this Wi-Fi entry and a selection of buttons pops up;
they are: 'Cancel', 'Forget' and 'Connect' also, 'Signal strength' is
displayed as 'Excellent'. I tap on the 'Connect' button and the
listed network indicates that it is 'Connecting'; then i'm taken
back to the 'Wi-Fi' screen as described above.
My problem is that i can't seem to get past this 'Wi-Fi' screen and
continue configuring the tablet. Is this a fault?
Oh, i've also read the 'connect to networks' chapter in the Nexus 7
Guidebook and the tablet is fully charged. My router's wi-fi settings
are all correct and have been checked several times.

Please help.

Regards, PollyMath.

So, according to the subject line you've solved your problem. Maybe you could share whatever the solution was.

You know ... in case someone else runs into the same issues (or misunderstanding?) that you did.

Hi,

I'm sorry that a didn't leave any info, I was in a hurry and i didn't want
anyone wasting time replying to my post; so i just left 'Solved' in the subject.
Any how, The Nexus 7 that i have now is the second one i've had. The first one
died within Two days; but not before i had entered it's MAC code into a list
of devices, in the router, able to access the Wi-Fi. When i got my replacement
I had forgotten about this list, and of course, my new Nexus 7 couldn't access Wi-Fi
because it's MAC wasn't in this list.
Then it came to me what the problem was and i deleted the old MAC and entered
the MAC for my new Nexus 7 and all was well with the world.

And as soon as you realized what happened, you no doubt did a palm to the forehead, a roll of the eyes, a gnashing of the teeth, a "Duh!", a Homer Simpson "Doh!", and mentioned a few other choice words that wouldn't get by the forum's Autobot censor. But at least you solved it. And I don't blame you for initially not giving details of how you solved it - better to keep that one private! ;)
